What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Media

We put pictures of events on the website so as a visitor to one of our events your picture may appear.

Contact forms

We use Google reCAPTCHA to minimise spam via the website, so your activity and IP address may be logged as part of the Google reCAPTCHA process.

When you use the contact form the information you enter will be forwarded on by email to one of the members of WACIDOM committee.

Cookies

If you have an account and you log in to this site (for site maintenance purposes), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. This also applies to sites linked to from this site.

If you have used the Contact Form you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Contact form data may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Other than this, data is not sent to third parties.

Your contact information

Your contact information as delivered by submitting a contact form may be retained by the member to whom it is sent. Our email circulation list may be held by any of the committee office holders with the information being used to inform you about WACIDOM activities and for the organisational business of WACIDOM. The list, in whole or part, is not passed to third parties.

Additional information

How we protect your data

The website is hosted by gandi.net and access (other than view only) is password protected. The number of accounts on the website is limited to only those necessary to maintain it.

We’re a small charity – data breaches will be handled ad hoc by the committee.

What third parties we receive data from

None as far as we know other than Google for reCAPCHA results.
